Angler reeling in a fish at sunset off the Dubai coast

Fish the Gulf the way fishermen do

Not a tourist ride — a working expedition with a Jumeirah fisherman. Trolling for kingfish, bottom-fishing for hamour, and hand-lines passed down the family. Your catch comes home with you, cleaned and iced.

Fishing boat heading out to the Gulf grounds at first light

Expeditions, not excursions

A day on the water with the man who sells the fish

Raed has fished these waters for over twenty years — the wrecks, the reefs, the currents that hold fish when everywhere else is empty. On a trip, that knowledge is yours for the day.

We launch from the Jumeirah coast before the city wakes, run to where the fish actually are, and work the tide. Beginners get patient coaching; experienced anglers get the deep marks. Everyone gets the same deal: what you catch, you keep.

Four ways out of the harbour

All trips are private charters for your group, departing from the Jumeirah coast. The sea sets the exact plan — we'll confirm timing the evening before.

How we fish

Three techniques, one Gulf

Trolling

Lines out, boat moving — the hunt for kingfish and mackerel across open water. When a hot rod screams, everyone's day is made.

Bottom fishing

Anchored over wrecks and reefs, working the structure where hamour, shaari and grouper live. Steady action, perfect for beginners.

Hand-lining

The old Gulf way — a line in the hand, feel in the fingers. How Raed's family has fished these waters for generations. Try it once and you'll understand.

Trip questions, answered straight

Do I need any fishing experience?
None at all. Most guests have never fished. You're taken step by step through the tackle, and the crew bait, rig and release alongside you all day.
Can we keep the fish we catch?
Yes — everything you catch is yours. It's cleaned, portioned and iced on board, so it goes home with you ready for the pan.
What's included in the price?
Rods and tackle, bait, fishing permits, iced coolers, water and soft drinks, safety equipment, an experienced captain and deckhand, and full cleaning and packing of your catch.
What should we bring?
Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a light jacket in winter, a camera, and a cool bag if you plan to take a lot of fish home. Everything else is provided.
Are the trips suitable for children?
Yes. The Family Introduction trip runs on calmer inshore grounds close to the Jumeirah coast, with life jackets for all sizes and patient coaching for young anglers.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety decides. If the sea isn't right, the trip is rescheduled to the next available date or fully refunded — your choice. We never take chances with the Gulf.
